Adult Swim's latest iOS game is Amateur Surgeon 3, a slapstick spin on DS surgery sim Trauma Center, with car batteries in place of defibrillators and a pizza cutter instead of a scalpel.

You play as rookie surgeon Ophelia Payne, and will chop up a handful of patients, including criminals, radioactive bats, a surgical dummy with Tourette's, mutated cultists, and a transgender robot.

That involves tending to various wounds, ailments, shards of glass, and concrete-set spleens. How? By picking the right tool and using it judiciously. This will hopefully save the patient's life, and earn you some cash in the process.

You can then spend that money on upgrading your tools and enlisting tag team surgery partners with handy special abilities.

Amateur Surgeon 3 is a free-to-play game, so expect to cough up for in-app purchases (or sit on your hands for a while) if you want to make meaningful progress.

Amateur Surgeon 3

We've enjoyed previous games in the franchise.

Amateur Surgeon 2
earned a Bronze Medal at review, for example. We said that "a fun and humorous operation, Amateur Surgeon 2 suffers from complications with its controls and difficulty spikes, but remains an appealing prospect."

Amateur Surgeon 3 will go live on the UK and US App Stores at around midnight tonight. It's free. You get to slice open a genetically modified pug with a pizza cutter. What more could you possibly want in life?
