Rovio set to force push Angry Birds Star Wars onto PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS in November

Rovio has revealed that iOS and Android hit Angry Birds Star Wars will be released on PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS in November.

Angry Birds Star Wars, for the two of you who haven't already played it, features plenty of characters and locations from George Lucas's original Star Wars trilogy (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi).

So, expect to be popping pigs (or pigtroopers) across familiar locations like Tatooine and Hoth, with Red Skywalker and plenty of other lightsaber-wielding birdies from Rovio's increasingly popular franchise.

New features will include co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes.

At review, we gave Angry Birds Star Wars a glittering Gold Award, and called it the "best 'Birds yet". You can't say fairer than that, really.

Earlier this week, Rovio announced Angry Birds Star Wars II alongside a line of Skylanders-esque interactive real-world toys.

Rovio's sequel will contain news stages and lots of new characters from The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. It's out in September.
