Flick balls at robot pirates in Pollushot sequel Sling It!

Pirate-pinging flick shooter Pollushot has just received the follow-up treatment in the form of the newly released Sling It! (Pollushot 2).

Building on the first game, which fused Angry Birds-style flick mechanics with Breakout-esque ball attacks, the maker of Sling It! has brought a host of new levels to the series.

As before, the game's levels are packed with fleets of floating robot adversaries, which you must destroy if the people of earth are to ever see the sun again.

Catch and release

Seeing as we don't really give a monkey's about the fate of these hypothetical future humans, Sling It!'s primary draw will be its multitasking move / flick / launch / collect gameplay.

You can move your slingshot around, load it, and then fire a projectile all with one finger. When your target explodes, you then zip about the screen collecting fragments and power-ups.

Though it sounds like a bit of a nightmare, this control method worked surprisingly well in the first game. Well enough to earn it a Pocket Gamer Silver Award, in fact.

You can download Sling It! (Pollushot 2) from the App Store right this second for £1.49 / $1.99 [buy]. You can also download it from Google Play right now for £1.27 [buy].
