Batten down the hatches and sail the Seven Seas in Kairosoft's Great Pirate Island Quest

Kairosoft has just launched a brand-new swashbuckling management sim called Great Pirate Island Quest on the Japanese App Store.

Naturally, the game's description is written in a language we don't entirely understand, but - thanks to the magic that is Google Translate - we can discern a few gameplay details.

So, it looks like your aim in this title is to build a team of grog-swilling treasure hunters and set off across the Seven Seas in search of gold coins and glittering jewels.

But you have heard of me!

While out on adventures, you'll encounter many other pirates, as well as fantastical monsters. When this happens, you'll have to organise your recruits and beat your foes down in real-time battles.

When you make it to dry land, however, Great Pirate Island Quest transforms into a traditional Kairosoft sim.

Here, you must invest your wealth to develop more valuable goods and powerful weapons, which you can later buy to improve your ship's chances in battle.

Great Pirate Island Quest looks fun. We don't know when - or if - it'll sail into the UK and US, but we'll let you know as soon as it does.
