Hewlett-Packard has used this year's Mobile World Congress event to announce a brand-new 7-inch tablet called the Slate 7.

Unsurprisingly, this forthcoming tablet won't be powered by WebOS (like the HP TouchPad). Instead, it will run Android Jelly Bean, complete with services such as Google Now.

Hardware-wise, the Slate 7 will arrive packing a 1.6GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage.

It will also boast a VGA quality front-facing camera and a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera, as well as Beats Audio.

HP will launch the Slate 7 in the US sometime this April. It will be available in two colours (red and slate grey) for $169, which is around £112. Isn't that exciting?
