Come on into the Vita PSN store.

Come on. Don't be afraid. What are you? Chicken?

Oh, you are? Well, that's pretty good timing, actually, for there's a great new poultry-based game for the PS Vita available this week.

And if that's not your cup of tea, there are also some vikings and aliens to deal with. Yowza.

Onwards and upwards, people...

Full-price releases

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is available this week to both European and American Vita gamers, and it's a bit of a corker.

I've played the PlayStation 3 and PC versions, and both were straight out of the top drawer. In Ratloop's scorcher, you play as a gung-ho chook on a mission to stop an evil organization. Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken will cost you £6.49 / $9.99, which is totally worth it.

When Vikings Attack: Special Edition costs £9.99, meanwhile, and features the original battle game, plus the added battle arena DLC. We said last year that it's brill, so you should definitely keep that in mind. Okay?

Americans get a chance to download Team17's classic Alien Breed this week. It's been souped up slightly, and will set you back $9.99. You'll get a copy of the PS3 version with that purchase, too, mind. Nifty.

Oh, and you American folks can now grab Ecolibrium for free. Click on that there hyperlink to find out why you should.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale owners: head over to the PSN Store quick and grab new characters Kat (from Gravity Rush) and Emmet (from Starhawk). They're free to download for two weeks, so don't dilly-dally.

PlayStation Plus games and offers

So, yeh, this is pretty sweet. European PS Plus subscribers get the incredible WipEout 2048 for free this week.

American PS Plus subscribers, on the other hand, can get 20 per cent off that new Alien Breed release. That works out at $7.99 (down from $9.99).

If you haven't played this horror game before, it's well worth paying that price to rectify your mistake.

PlayStation Mobile releases

There's some rather decent new releases in the PlayStation Mobile section this week, so get ready to hit the appropriate tab in the PSN Store.

First off, note that Beats Trellis is completely free to download for everyone this week. It's a music maker thingy... in case you were baffled by its name.

Up next is Chimpact, a one-touch arcade-puzzle game in which you catapult a monkey around. That'll cost you £3.19, if you're interested.

This week's other new PS Mobile release is far from casual, mind.

Dungeon Bandit is an unashamed dungeon-crawler, and it'll cost you £3.39. Its creator promises 16+ hours of gameplay, so you'll certainly be getting your money's worth.

PSP and PSone Classics

Growlanser: Wayfarer Of Time is a classic Japanese RPG that surfaced on the PSP in America last year, after it was originally launched on PS2 in Japan back in 2003.

Now, it's finally been given a European release. But, is it any good? Reviews would suggest that it's better than average, but nothing too special. That'll set you back £23.99.

Gungnir, the other new PSP release this week, is cut from the same cloth. Sort of.

It's a Japanese RPG; it's finally getting a European release; it's received middling reviews online; and it has a £23.99 price tag.

See you again next week, peeps!
