Lego Marvel Super Heroes assembling on 3DS and Vita this autumn

Avengers: assemble! Most other Marvel characters: also assemble!

Warner Bros. has just revealed that the latest entry in TT Games's rather profitable Lego series will focus on the power-suited, hammer-wielding, web-slinging, shield-flinging heroes of the Marvel universe.

Appropriately entitled Lego Marvel Super Heroes, the game - which is heading to Nintendo DS, 3DS, and PS Vita - will allow you to take control of over 100 iconic characters from the Marvel stable, including Avengers stars Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and Thor.

"Fans of both Lego and Marvel have wanted this game for years," VP of games production at Marvel Entertainment TQ Jefferson said.

"We're addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game."

Each character will be ported into the game with its own unique abilities, which the Marvel dream team will need if it is to save New York - and the earth - from cosmic miscreants Loki and Galactus.

Other playable heroes include Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

I have a plan: attack!

According to Warner Bros., those excited about Lego Marvel Super Heroes can look forward to "epic battle scenes, puzzle-solving, and a unique story told with playful Lego humour".

TT Games's last Lego-fuelled foray into the world of comics was Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, which we felt gave the Lego franchise "a new lease of life".

If you own a Nintendo DS, 3DS, or PS Vita, then you'll be able to experience Lego Marvel Super Heroes sometime this autumn.
