Grab The Lost Treasures of Infocom at midnight and play 27 classic text-based adventures on your iPhone

The Lost Treasures of Infocom, a new collection of 27 classic text-based adventure titles, has just landed on the New Zealand App Store.

You know the drill. This means it'll be available to download in the UK and US from around midnight this evening.

When you download The Lost Treasures of Infocom, you receive Zork I: The Great Underground Empire for free.

In this title, you're tasked with overcoming axe-wielding trolls and a giant cyclops in order to nab the Twenty Treasures of Zork.

If you're not a fan of this 1980 classic, or you just want to play something else, you can grab the rest of this collection's games through in-app purchases.

You can download five packs of five games for £1.99 / $2.99 each, or download all 26 titles at once for just £6.99 / $9.99.

All 27 games in this free application have been "faithfully" recreated for the iPhone and iPad, and are presented alongside their original box art and product manuals. There are full game maps for each title, too.
