Sing Something for iPhone is out now and is exactly what you think it is
Who needs drawing, anyway?
Cuteko has just released Sing Something onto the App Store, and, yes, it's Draw Something with vocals.
Having said that, it's not exactly the same (even though Cuteko does borrow elements, such as bombs, from OMGPOP's touchscreen phenomenon). Attempting to decipher the song's artist and title, for instance, plays out a lot more like Hangman, where you have the entire alphabet at your disposal and choose the letters to fill in the blanks.
You also don't actually have to sing the song if you're feeling a bit self-conscious, with humming actually adding more coins to the resulting score (as it's a lot easier to guess a song when someone sings the words).
Sing it back to meNaturally, there are ways you can troll your opponent in there, too. Deputy editor of PocketGamer.biz Keith Andrew tried to annoy me by playing Croatia's 1998 Eurovision Song Contest entry for a completely unrelated song. And a recording of a Dalek.
If there's one thing I will say, it's that it's a bit too easy to blindly guess a song, thanks to the Hangman system (just type in vowels and you can usually fill in the blanks from there).
Still, if you're growing a bit tired of Draw Something and you fancy gurgling Tina Turner's '(Simply) the Best' down the mic, Sing Something's quite a fun little game.
It's out now on the iPhone for free, and can be downloaded by hitting the button below.
