RPG Dragon's Odyssey Frane roars onto the App Store

Developer Exe-Create completed its PC localisation of The Lost Angelic Chronicles of Frane: Dragon's Odyssey over the summer and has now brought the game, with a slightly shorter title, to the iOS as a universal app.

RPG Dragon's Odyssey Frane is a traditional Japanese action RPG with gameplay and aesthetics reminiscent of Chrono Trigger.

The new localisation features full voice acting and English text, although the official screenshots on the App Store show the Japanese game menus.

Exe-ly what you’re looking for

The world of RPG Dragon's Odyssey Frane comes alive thanks to the quality of the voice acting and 16-bit, top-down sprite graphics that look better and more polished than they ever did on the SNES or Genesis.

In addition to classic gameplay and graphics, RPG Dragon's Odyssey Frane features a story that will be familiar to fans of the JRPG genre- especially those who have played Dragon Quest IX.

The main characters are members of the Angel Clan who descend from heaven (at the behest of God, nevertheless) to pursue their former master who flew down to the mortal world for reasons unknown.

If you are a fan of JRPGs and are not turned off by the $11.99, €9.99 or £7.99 price or the 553 MB required to fit the app on your iOS device of choice, RPG Dragon's Odyssey Frane might well be worth checking out.
