The lauded return of the Krypton Factor TV show has been going down a storm, even though it tends to leave you feeling like a bit of an idle dunce when office workers and legal assistants run an assault course and perform brain training that would make Dr Kawashima have an aneurism while we sit and loaf in front of the telly.
If there’s one problem with the Krypton Factor’s triumphant return, it’s the lack of the supreme presenter-with-a-side-parting, Gordon Burns. Fortunately, Gameloft’s stepped into the breach with a new mobile title, Krypton Factor The Original – complete with the digital likeness of the immortal Mr Burns.
Krypton Factor The Original aims to recreate the look and feel of the superhuman quiz show from before its 13-year absence (for licensing/legal reasons), and takes you through six gruelling events – mental agility, response, observation, physical challenge, intelligence and general knowledge – as you attempt to be crowned (by Gordon himself) as Superperson of the Year.
The game also includes a Quick Show mode, which allows you to practice all the unlocked iron man (and woman) events. Just don’t go cheating by saying you’re a female contestant just for the head start on the assault course. Unless you are a woman, of course, in which case meeting Gordon Burns will be even more exciting.
