Kingdom Hearts Re:coded heading to DS

Square Enix has today confirmed that its Disney collaboration franchise, Kingdom Hearts, will be gracing the Nintendo DS with a new game.

The title in question is a port of the mobile action RPG Kingdom Hearts coded (renamed to Re:coded), and follows Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days’s release on the handheld.

The game opens with Jiminy Cricket discovering a mysterious note in the journal he kept of the adventure he and Sora embarked upon in Kingdom Hearts II. Sure that he didn’t write it, an investigation is required, so he, King Mickey, Sora and an assorted cast digitise the journal, enter it, and find a digital Sora within the virtual world.

You couldn’t make this up. Well, someone did, actually, but that’s besides the point. (Is it? - ed).
