Kid Icarus: Uprising 3DS due early next year in Japan, apologies from Iwata for the delay

A specific release date for the much-anticipated epic Kid Icarus: Uprising on 3DS has been conspicuous by its absence.

At Nintendo's pre-TGS 2011 conference, though, company boss Saturo Iwata announced that the game has now been pushed back to the first quarter of 2012.

Iwata went on to explain that development on Kid Icarus: Uprising has simply taken longer to conclude than the team had originally anticipated.

When our own Will Wilson went hands-on with the game in July, he was thoroughly impressed, stating that "Kid Icarus: Uprising has managed to fire an arrow into this gamer's heart already."
