JoyJoy is a gorgeous twin-stick shooter from Radiangames that blasts onto iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 8 on May 15th
Sounds GoodGood
Those busy bodies (or rather, that busy body) at Radiangames have announced the launch of a new game next week, but it isn't the kind of stylised puzzler we've come to expect from the developer.
Rather, JoyJoy is a super-slick twin-stick shooter - the kind that used to be ten-a-penny earlier in the decade, but which aren't quite so common any more.
Of course, that's probably because JoyJoy originally launched as an Xbox Live Indie game way back in 2010. This version for iPhone and iOS appears to be a particularly faithful port, with the developer aiming for the same super-smooth 60FPS frame rate.
The mobile game JoyJoy most reminds me of is Tilt to Live, with its crisp abstract graphics, frequent explosions of colour, and lovely swooping missile-trail effects.
It's far more directly action-packed, though, judging from the video.
Also worthy of reiterating is that JoyJoy will launch on all three main mobile platforms - iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 8 - simultaneously. That's something of a rarity in itself.
Radiangames has also worked in joypad support for iOS and Android, with Windows Phone 8 listed as a possibility.
JoyJoy will launch for the above platforms on May 15th at a cost of $1.99 / £1.49.
