International Track & Field hits American App Store

'Not announced as UK title yet'

International Track & Field hits American App Store

Konami is one of the strongest App Store supporters from the wild world of consoles, bringing many of its most beloved franchises to iPhone. Now, after the likes of Metal Gear Solid, Frogger, and Silent Hill, the developer has turned to another long standing franchise.

International Track & Field, first seen in arcades in 1983, is a hodge-podge collection of athletics and sporting events that require some serious pinkie dexterity to ace.

While the series is best known for button bashing, this iPhone release is about tapping, scratching, shaking and holding.

The game, which has been remade with swish cel-shaded visuals, includes five events with a 100 meter dash, 110 meter hurdles, long jump, hammer throw, and pole vault.

The game is currently only available on the American App Store for $1.19.

We asked Konami's UK PR team at Voltage if the game would be making its way across the Atlantic. They told us "It's not been announced as a UK title yet, sadly".

We'll let you know if anything changes.
