Fans of mobiles and motors could be driven to distraction with the news that publisher Infospace has unveiled two new automotive outings amidst its official E3 lineup. But with eight new games to arrive by the autumn, including puzzles, pub games and of course the obligatory footie title, there should be something for everyone else too.

There's no doubting the star of the show: MTV Pimp My Ride promises to bring all the colour and creative flare of the TV show to mobile when it revs up in August. Placing you in the overhauls of the famous 'pimper' team, MTV Pimp My Ride tasks you with turning a 'junker' into a flymobile. Four different games and a micro-challenge enabling you to compete against your chums are on offer – but exactly how all this works out will hopefully become clearer when we get a proper hands-on test at E3 tomorrow.

For those who prefer racing cars to preening them, Le Mans 2006, also out in August, should fit the bill. Whilst we're not likely to see a full-on 'real-time' mode (well, your battery wouldn't make it!), there will be car selection, day and night racing, strategic pit stops and 12 demanding stages to tackle.

Of course there are other sports happening this summer (apparently there's a kick about in Germany or something) and fans of football, rugby and pool can also look forward to putting their thumbs to work with Sexy Soccer, Back Attack and Trickshot Pool respectively.

Sexy Soccer combines those two passions most close to a man's heart (well, a Nuts-reading man) – football and girls. Inviting players to Sexy Soccer Summer Camp and demanding they show off their skills in three different training disciplines (passing, shooting and keepy-uppy), the girls offer the unique incentive of taking off their clothes.

Sadly there won't be a Jon Motson commentary track ("My word, will you just take a look at that") but the game will at least enable us to raid our double entendre cupboard for references to ball control, chest trap, dribbling and the like when it arrives next month.

Also out in June, Trickshot Pool demands ball control of a different kind, tasking you with 24 challenging shots to pull off, as well as a conventional eight or nine ball game. And Back Attack, due out in October, intriguingly promises to combine rugby tactics with a puzzle mechanic, requiring you to strategically out-pass a virtual team (or friend in two-player mode) before kicking for goal.

The final three titles set to cause a scrum in the Pocket Gamer office also offer interesting variations on the puzzle game theme.

You'll probably be less than startled to discover that Take Yer Meds! will apply a medical theme to the genre when it arrives in September, tasking you with grabbing remedies for patients wacky illnesses (and we stress 'wacky' is Infospace's description).

Out in October, Aquastax offers a nautical variation on the block-stacking puzzle theme, as you must keep your characters' heads above the rising water and avoid hazardous seagulls and, erm, goats along the way.

Last, but by no means least, Cubis is the latest puzzle classic to wend its way from the casual gaming Internet to mobile. One of the most popular casual games on the net, the puzzler, penciled in for a September release, requires you to slide cubes across the board to create chains using special power-ups (star, wedge, osmosis and laser) to rack up extra points.

We'll be bringing you a playtest of all the games as soon as our E3 correspondent gets out of bed in LA (last time we spoke to him he muttered something about time difference), and reviews of the June releases will follow soon after.
