As Immortals hacks its way into cinemas across the country, Gameloft has broken out the bronzer to provide Android users with an official movie tie-in.

Presented as a 2D classic side-scroller, Immortals puts you into the sepia-toned sandals of legendary Greek hero Theseus. Chosen by Zeus to destroy the unpleasant and entirely orange King Hyperion, it’s your duty to carve through Titans, the Minotaur, and various other mythological nasties over seven levels of bloodthirsty action.

In an effort to cater to low-spec handset owners, Immortals is a port of Gameloft’s Java title of the same name. While it’s not clear whether a slicker, more hardware-intensive version is in production, this iteration offers simple retro action with a Greco-Roman flavour.

If you fancy a pocket-sized dose of skeleton-stabbing, you can find Immortals in the Android Market for £1.99 ($2.99).
