Nintendo has dated the European release of Hotel Dusk 2, otherwise known by the clunkier (but more official) title of Last Window: The Secret of Cape West.

The title was believed to be dead and buried a few months ago when developer Cing lost its fight against bankruptcy and went under. At the time, Nintendo’s trademarking of the name in Europe did raise some hope of it seeing a western release.

Twisted tale

Last Window continues the mysterious and confusing adventures of Kyle Hyde, ex-police officer, as he struggles to uncover the secrets held within the Cape West apartment block in 1980s LA.

The ‘Take on Me’ sketched artwork makes a re-appearance in the new game, although now players get the opportunity to interrupt conversations mid-flow.

This surprise announcement by Nintendo means that the sequel to one of the most interesting puzzle adventure games for the DS will finally see the light of day on European shores on September 17th.

There's no word on yet whether the title will also see a North American release however, but there’s always the option of importing if it doesn’t see the light of day over the pond.
