Honeycomb Beat buzzes over from DS to mobiles

With mobiles having their good name sullied by the now popularly held belief that they are deadly bee-killing machines (despite inconclusive proof), Living Mobile is releasing a puzzle game that identifies with the plight of nature's workaholics.

Honeycomb Beat is a mobile conversion of the DS game of the same name and despite sounding like a rhythm action title, is in fact a straight-up puzzler.

The game takes place on a honeycomb grid on which you need to change all the combs into the same colour; beat a yellow hexagon and it turns grey, and vice versa. Any combs that are in direct contact with combs that have been beaten also automatically change their colour, making for some head-scratching puzzle action.

Besides the standard mode there is a bonus section where you have to beat rows of combs that pop up from the bottom of the screen into the same colour, again making them disappear.

Boasting 100 levels, Honeycomb Beat should keep even the most accomplished puzzle gurus cross-eyed with frustration for a while. Click 'Track It!' to see if we think this one stands out from the hive, should we snare a copy for review.
