Distinctive sweeps onto the iPhone ice with Hockey Nations 2010

While the rest of the iDevice development world is focused on iPad, it's good to see some companies are continuing with business as usual.

UK developer Distinctive Developments has just submitted its latest title, Hockey Nations 2010.

It claims it's the first full scale 6-on-6 ice hockey game for iPhone and iPod touch.

Puck on glove

You control the motion-captured action with a virtual D-pad as well as the three action buttons on the right-hand side of the screen.

You can tweak the settings for each game for icing and offside rules, plus the length of the game and the difficulty level.

There are five modes: Practice; World League, where you play all other teams; Exhibition, where you choose two teams and jump right in; Go for Gold; and the one-on-one with the keeper Shoot-out mode.

There are also 13 achievements to collect, while line changes will be included in first update.

Check out the action in the following video.
