Gun Bros 2 hits Canadian App Store

The sequel to last year's freemium blaster Gun Bros has cropped up on the Canadian App Store.

We thought the original Gun Bros was an enjoyable - if a little grind-happy - slice of meat-headed twin-stick action. Hopefully, the follow-up can add some variety and depth to all that solid 3D blasting.

And by the looks of it, Glu is aiming to do just that.

Gun Bros 2 introduces vehicles for the first time. Apparently, you can get behind the wheel of the "Honey Badger", which we're guessing isn't as cute as its sounds.

"Hop into the Honey Badger vehicle and do some donuts on your enemy's face. Comes standard with missile launchers and inertial accelerator," the blurb reads. Nope, thought not.

In this sequel, you're also given the intriguing opportunity to modify your guns, e.g. bolt on attachments to turn your "peashooter into a predator".

We're guessing the best weaponry will be available via an in-app purchase, but as long as they're satisfying to use (and optional), we're not too bothered.

The levels look to be a little more colourful and varied, too.

As mentioned, Gun Bros 2 is only available on the Canadian App Store at present. The Canadian App Store tends to be used as the testbed for iOS freemium titles, so this 'beta' rollout should be considered a prelude to a wider release. Keep 'em peeled.
