| Go Deliver - London

The first game from Midoki - a motley crew of expat developers from UK firms like Sony, Codemasters, and Rare - will turn you into a courier in London.

As in, the REAL London.

Go Deliver turns you into a cube-headed courier, who has to travel around picking up parcels. Then, you'll be instructed to walk across the city and deliver said parcels to GPS-tagged drop-off spots around the capital.

It's not about speed - the developer intends for you to fit the game in around your real-life moseying - though you will have to juggle tasks and plan ahead.

"Your bag has limited space for packages," Dan Martinez-Normand, director and co-founder at Midoki, explains. "The costume you wear only allows you to pick up specific types of packages, too."

If you can't make the trip, or if you're heading in the opposite direction, you can call on your pals to finish the job.

"Because all packages are on the cloud you can drop a package anywhere in the city and get your friends to pick it up," Martinez-Normand says. If they deliver, you'll share the reward.

You could also rely on strangers who are playing the game. You can't see their location - for obvious privacy reasons - but you will receive messages about the packages being picked up, delivered, or airdropped in.

The Big Smoke to The Bay

"This is just the start," Martinez-Normand declares. "We have some cool ideas about long-distance deliveries that would require even more collaboration. Can you imagine helping delivering a package to a different city, or even a different country?"

Speaking of which, London is not the end. San Francisco will be added soon after, and more cities are in the works.

The studio's City Tech engine can generate a new city from satellite data in just a few weeks. Then, it's a case of going in and manually adding elements that the data missed ("like Nelson on top of his Column").

Go Deliver will be a free-to-play game, and will use Game Center to keep your pals in check. It will be out on iPhone and 3G-equipped iPads later this month.
