US carrier Verizon has signed a deal with Exent to bring the firm's mobile game subscription service to its Android customers across the country.

GameTanium is available for the operator's Android users on smartphones and tablets as we speak, with more than 100 smartphone and 50 tablet games launching on the Verizon-exclusive service.

Speed meets power

"We are excited to bring the launch of the GameTanium smartphone and tablet service to Verizon Wireless’ customer base," said Exent founder and CEO Zvi Levgoren.

"The speed and power of Verizon Wireless’ network allows for a rich mobile gaming experience for Verizon Wireless customers to enjoy."

Games can be played via GameTanium from a monthly fee of $5.99 per device, with Exent claiming additional features – such as games picked by Exent's editorial board, and in depth reviews – helping enhance the act of game discovery.

Frontier gaming

"GameTanium provides our Android customers with unlimited access to more than 100 games at a great value," added Verizon Wireless executive director of marketing Kristi Crum.

"Working with Exent has enabled us to immerse customers into the mobile gaming frontier and ultimately bring high-quality gaming options powered by 4G LTE."

Both parties claim a total of 30 smartphones and two tablets can download the GameTanium app, with a free three-day trial built in to entice take up.
