When someone promises us "the craziest monkey-action of this year", we sit up and take notice. Can it really top that night out we shared with a couple of bonobos and a crate of champagne?
Well HandyGames is the company doing the promising, and Funky Monkey is the game. It's a banana-chomping vine-swinging platform romp that pits your monkey against gorillas, snakes, spiders, carnivorous plants and all manner of dangerous traps.
It's all set in the jungle, naturally, with the aim being to rescue your monkey babies from devilish poachers wanting to smuggle them overseas to be sold in farmer's markets as exotic monkey steaks (at least, we assume that's the reason).
You can perform a 'superswing' to reach the highest treetops in the jungle, and use your hat as a parachute to float down again. Funky Monkey looks like a whole lotta simian fun, and it's out next week.
