ds game the simms 2

i purchased simms 2 for my daughter for the ds lite and each time she goes into the pockets in the game the game freezes on her, she then has to turn it off and start again.. is there a fault or is she doing somethign wrong?

It could be faulty memory, or the game. It could possibly even be a scratched disc.
