Prawn Star: Community feedback

This is the place for developers to peddle their wares and for the rest of you to tell them what you think...

Prawn Star: Community feedback

Postby johnherman » Mon Jan 28, 2013 9:40 am

Hi there, Paul Mitchell here, coder, artist and one of the designer of the iOS game Prawn Star.
I'm ex senior technical artist on the Real Racing series for Firemint / EA.

We're about to go Free-to-Play and would love some community feedback on our control system before we update.
It's currently a mash of buttons, hidden touch area's and swipes which we need to make more simple, less confusing and fun for the player.
There's a free version on the App Store (Prawn Star Free) so you won't have to spend your hard earned dollar.

I'm thinking all buttons, below is a screen shot of a re-worked version.

I've been involved in the development of a lot of games since my first, testing "The Hobbit" for the ZX spectrum in school holidays.
To have access now to all you avid gamers is a true advance in the process.

Thanking you all.

Paul Mitchell

Hi Paul Mitchell here, developer of Prawn Star for IOS

The original concept / design for our plucky shrimp Kevin was based on the look of a real Prawn. It still hurts my head the thought of animating all those legs.
