Is the Gizmondo doomed to fail a second time?

Postby Fraser » Wed Feb 06, 2008 11:30 am

The Gizmondo is making an unexpected attempt at a comeback, not that it was a success in the first place but it is coming back.

So will any of you lot see fit to giving one a home? Is the homebrew approach a good idea? Can it compete against the likes of the GPX32 and the bustling homebrew community that already exists on the DS and PSP?

Let us know in the usual way people.

Well it's already looking a bit wobbly with the delay from May until the end of the year. But if they make a good product then it could have a piece of the market. The homebrew thing is a good idea as the enthusiasts will be able to adapt their toy to how they want it. But is it one gadget too much?! Needs a cult following to be successful.

If it had a touchscreen, I 'd say it'd do well.
No way I'd buy a handheld without one now.

Still, It's true the homebrew aspect of it MIGHT be a saving grace for it, but I think probably not.

It's not like the history of the Gizmondo goes in it's favor either.

(I would have replied earlier, but I have changed jobs and moved as well, so I had no broadband for a week or so (It was a horrible experience having no Broadband! , not something I'd recommend to anyone)
