Loads of people with buy it because it's going to be inside the majority of N-Series phones.

Who will use it is the real pertinent question and that is largely decided by how Nokia market it. So far, if their b2b approach is anything to go by, that will be 'not very well'!

The whole idea sounds really interesting and it could be great for mobile gaming - I'm just worried that Nokia drop the ball!

interesting to compare Nokia pulling out of the gaming handset market with the console-like launch process of iPhone. Fact is if Nokia made decent handsets, NGage 2 would be a console-like device and they would sell millions as dedicated gaming devices.

Well, that's a fairly controversial view Splat. Sure, the original N-gage was almost hilariously ill-concieved as a phone (it wasn't bad, if under-powered, as a games device) but the compromises required for dual functionality really do make it almost inevitable that it'll miss the mark.

I think the new N-Gage strategy is much better -- foremost a powerful phone (okay, a 'mini computer' or whatever Nokia is calling it), but with powerful functions for game management and purchasing.

That said, they need to sort out the controls. Mobile gamers were in a better position 2 years ago when it comes to controls -- the N93i sounds like the latest victim, as Mike will report in his review tomorrow (spoiler! oops, bit late! :) )

Read on engadget that someone's got the app running on their N95. Only one file need adjustment apparently.

Well as we know it's all up and running for some phone models. Tried to log into the n-gage arena forums from work and from mobile but got timed out. It was like 27 members logged in and 17,000 guests!!!

Lol, well at least it's nice to see that the new platform is getting attention ^^

I myself am still playing the waiting game, wondering what'll arrive first: my new N82 or a client for my N73 :P
