shrek the third ds

hiya just new here,was wondering if anyone can help me. my daughter has shrek the third but cant get past level 3 the bit where the giant is ,it says arties shield will hit him on the head .we can do this fine and get puss in boots past but not shrek and artie.maybe im being really daft but if anyone can help me i would be so grateful.-sorry if im not soing this right.ive never wrote on a forum before
