Discuss Nintendo's dual-screen dream machine here

Postby Mike Cook » Fri Jun 01, 2007 7:33 pm

It's a wider topic than I'd realised!

The hardware is still quite young, and there's plenty of mileage left in it, but it's funny that we've not yet seen a developer tackle something like an RTS yet. The only problem is the size of the screen - zooming in would work on something nice and slow like a point-and-clicker, but I couldn't imagine zooming into a warzone to pick out a few units!

Maybe a music-mixing game would work, too? Although handheld games consoles and the clubbing scene aren't the most obvious partners!

Would it be amazingly outrageous to suggest an MMO of sorts?

I mean, with the wi-fi capability of the DS, surely it can be done? ;)

I actually know very little about the DS' capabilities, so I don't know how strong the network is. An MMO would be interesting though. Animal Crossing-themed, maybe!

Fallout 3 (top down old style version) for the DS.

Zork Nemesis Meet the DS? or made visual.
I really think this whole drawing your symbol for a spell idea is still needing exploration, forget about the HEX idea, they already messed that up...

Mix point & click advanture with the spell casting via drawing the symbols and you might have something....

I'm very happy to hear that Zelda:Phantom Hourglass is letting us do it.
