iPhone league leader First Touch Soccer goes universal in new update
Tactical tweaks bring top quality display from iOS footy champ
Sports video games always endeavour to capture the nuances of the pastimes they recreate, but one respect in which the digital versions differ from their real-world counterparts is that performance-enhancers are banned in one and actively welcomed in the other.
So it is with X2’s terrific First Touch Soccer, with the Pocket Gamer Gold Award-winning title receiving a substantial update today, the headlining feature being a new universal build.
iPad owners will no doubt be over the moon with this much-improved display, and existing users certainly won’t be sick as a parrot over the other tweaks.
Goalkeepers have been improved, and the Dream Team you’ve built can now be used in the game’s multiplayer mode. Those taking their game online will be rewarded with increased matchmaking stability.
On top of that, there are new balls, fresh leaderboards, and some pesky bugs have been squashed. The free update is available to download now, while the game itself remains at the UEFA-guideline-pleasing price of 59p/99c.
