OrangePixel unleashes Firby for mobile

Colourful platformer heading to phones worldwide

OrangePixel unleashes Firby for mobile

| Firby

Firby? Who on Earth thought it was a good idea to make a mobile game based on that? We thought we'd seen the back of those irritating squawking electronic toys. Really, it's just…

Oh.

Hang on, that's Furby, isn't it? OrangePixel's new game, Firby, is thankfully nothing to do with those.

Instead, it's a cutesy platformer that puts you in the shoes (well, flapping sheet) of a pink ghost called Firby. Your job? To help a good witch find her keys, via the medium of 48 platform levels.

But wait a minute, though. Firby looks a bit familiar. That pink colouring and cheeky cartoon looks remind us of… Kirby! See what they've done there with the name?

Firby might not cause Nintendo too many sleepless nights, but it looks good and OrangePixel is promising an accessible difficulty level to attract casual mobile gamers. Oh, and online high-scores for the more hardcore lot.
