Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of Lions iPhone September 15th release date 'completely wrong'
Square Enix supplies new screenshot by way of apology
When Square Enix announced an iPhone version of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of Lions at E3 in June, the developer claimed that it would be available on September 15th.
It seems we'll have to wait a little bit longer. Posting on the Square Enix downloadable games Facebook page, a contrite company correspondent writes: “We are so sorry for confusing you.
"The wrong information about the FFT release date is spreading around somehow...
"It says the release date is to be September 15th but it's completely wrong.
"The release date is still "TBD".
"For my apologies, I caught the producer Takehiro Ando and got a brand-new screenshot."
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of Lions is a tactical RPG set after the events of Final Fantasy VII. It came out in 1997 on PlayStation, and then again in 2007 on PSP, to critical acclaim, with new content and head-to-head multiplayer.
It's not known exactly what features the iPhone version will contain, nor the price, but Pocket Gamer's Rumour Miner is predicting £8.99.
Hopefully it won't be too long before we find out whether he's right.
"It's under development and being better day by day," says the Facebook correspondent. "I'll surely inform you here as soon as I get some updates."
