Player X to launch PrizePlay Family Fortunes

What do points mean? Priz... Oh, hang on, that's another show

Player X to launch PrizePlay Family Fortunes

A common criticism of mobile games based on TV quiz shows is, well, you don't get any prizes for winning. So where's the appeal?

Player X is working on it. The publisher has signed a deal with Sennari to use the latter's PrizePlay technology in its range of gameshow-themed titles. The first to launch will be a PrizePlay version of Family Fortunes.

The way PrizePlay works is that you pay to play the game, using game tokens that you buy separately. In the game you're playing, you then earn points that can be spent on digital downloads, gadgets, high-street shopping vouchers or cold hard cash.

The PrizePlay edition of Family Fortunes is due out in the next couple of months, and will be followed by similar versions of Player X's existing Blockbusters and The Price Is Right games. The publisher says the games will be available on all the UK operator portals.
