Everybody's Golf (or Hot Shots Golf if you happen to live in North America) has just been updated on the PS Vita, meaning Ernis Els wannabes have a few extra online multiplayer options to play around with.

Rather than forcing you into public tournaments with total strangers, Clap Hanz's Everybody's Golf now lets you create private online tournaments for you and your buddies.

Supporting up to seven players, this mode allows you to keep an eye on your opponent's ball between shots, and try to break his concentration by filling his scorecard with insulting text messages.

In this update, the performance-based Stroke Mode and time-sensitive Match Mode make their online debut - both of these modes were previously only playable by connecting ad hoc to another Vita.

What's your handicap?

In an effort to make Real Mode less intimidating to newcomers, Clap Hanz has included a dynamic ranking system in Everybody's Golf. In effect, this means online players are now matched according to their relative golfing prowess.

Finally, if you compete in the game's Daily Tournaments, your daily input(t) has been reduced from three games to one, in an effort to make the competitions "more focused and exciting". So, there.

You can pick up Everybody's Golf from both your local bricks-and-mortar retailer and the PlayStation Store right now.
