Dragon Land is a brand new 3D platformer on iOS and Android which takes a ton of inspiration from those old school platformers you played and loved when you were young.

The evil Borg has kidnapped your friends and it's up to you, as a young dragon, to rescue them. With that in mind, you'll set off on a journey throughout Dragon Land as you run, jump, glide, and beat up enemies in a variety of gorgeous levels.

Complete an episode and you'll rescue one of your friends who is then unlocked as a playable character. Each dragon has its own abilities that are incredibly useful, and often the key to progressing in a future level.

To learn more about Dragon Land, we reached out to Dano Alonso, Producer at Social Point, who went into more detail about why you should play it, the challenges faced during development, and what we can expect from future updates.
What do you think Dragon Land offers that you can’t get from any other title on the App Store?

"Dragon Land is the first true 3D platforming experience that you can have on your mobile device, and resembles old school platformers that you loved and played during your childhood."

What challenges did you face during development, and how did you overcome them?

"Our first major challenge was getting the controls just right for touchscreen devices, and the results so far have been superb. Those who've played it have enjoyed themselves immensely and have never struggled with the controls.

"The second big challenge was to adapt the classic console platformer experience to a F2P model. We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy Dragon Land so it was always the plan to release it for free."

Which part of Dragon Land are you personally the most proud of and why?

"The levels. You can find pirate ships, pyramid interiors, mysterious caverns, forgotten mines... Some levels are truly unforgettable.

"We think the level design is exactly what an old school platformer gamer would expect from the genre, and they'll find it in Dragon Land."

Do you have anything planned in terms of future updates for Dragon Land and, if so, can you give us any details of what these might include?

"Of course. We want to offer players what they're hungry for - more levels to play!

"They may come in the form of new episodes or under a different guise, but you'll have to wait and see."

Have you any plans to bring Dragon Land to any other mobile platforms, such as Windows Phone?

"We're launching the game simultaneously on iOS and Android and that's our main focus right now.

"Our next step is to get Dragon Land on Apple TV, as it kind of resembles a traditional console experience."
