Denny's Atari Remix delivers retro favorites with a weird, fast food twist
Video games have never been so greasy
Remember Sneak King? Burger King’s stealth action attempt at advergaming (yes that is a word) wasn’t the first, and certainly isn’t the last in unexpected fast food video game mash-ups.
Now, Denny’s, an iconic American diner, has teamed up with Atari to produce Denny's Atari Remix, a collection of three classic arcade games with a greasy, culinary twist.
Denny's Atari Remix, for both iOS and Android, remixes Asteroids, Centipede, and Breakout into Hashteroids, Centipup, and Take-Out respectively, spicing up these retro fan favorites with all new fast food-related themes.
You’ll blast hashbrowns with ketchup aboard the SS Denny’s in Hashteroids, turn stuff into fried eggs using a syrup bottle in Centipup, and break down a wall of breakfast items in Take-Out.
All this in promotion of Denny’s new “Greatest Hits Remixed” menu, a tribute to the diner’s most popular dishes.
“We’re constantly looking to provide a fresh take on tradition for our guests, and this partnership with Atari allows us to extend the fun beyond our menu, and add a new spin on classic gameplay,” said Denny’s chief brand officer, Frances Allen.
Denny's Atari Remix is available for free on both iOS and Android.
