The folks behind console hit Dead Island have just unleashed a fresh wave of zombies onto the New Zealand App Store via tower defence title Dead Stop.

We've already seen how plants fare against the undead. Now, dev Techland believes it's time to give science a go.

Luckily, a mad scientist has knocked up a vast collection of lasers and machine guns using everyday household objects - the perfect tools for blasting zombies into grey, dusty bits.

You can place these makeshift munitions on the battlefield and use them to send advancing deadites back to their graves.

In addition to having a crack at the main campaign, you can test your stamina in the Survival mode, and test your brains with a series of maze puzzles.

If you're still excited by games with the word 'dead' in the title (more power to you), Dead Stop will be available in the UK and US App Store later tonight, priced 69p / 99c.
