We got all excited about the news that Hands-On Mobile was releasing a mobile version of retro game Crystal Quest, until we realised we'd got it confused with isometric 8-bit classic Crystal Castles. Can someone snap that up, please?

But Crystal Quest is also worth getting excited about, we hasten to add. It began life as the first ever colour game for the Apple Macintosh computer, before being ported to the Game Boy and PDAs (the screenshot pictured is a crop from the original, by the way).

More recently, it's made its way on to Xbox Live Arcade, before becoming one of the first Windows Vista casual games. And now Hands-On has bagged it for mobile.

For those of you who haven't played it (like us), the game involves guiding your ship around the screen collecting crystals, avoiding enemies, and skedaddling through a gateway to the next level. To provide nuanced gameplay, there are 12 types of enemy and dynamic score multipliers aplenty.

No news on a release date, but we'll keep you posted.
