Those mad penguins return to App Store for Crazy Penguin Catapult 2

Following Trip Hawkins' revelation that Digital Chocolate is putting out 100 games for iPhone and iPod touch, it seems like the onslaught is continuing apace.

Crazy Penguin Catapult 2 has just slipped down the ice and onto the App Store.

The sequel to the successful mobile and iPhone game - which sees you using a catapult to hurtle courageous penguins at invading polar bears - this adds 50 all-new levels, crazier power-ups and more action.

We're certainly looking forward to trying out new options such as the Grenade Penguin, Drill Penguin and Houdini Penguin, which sound like the sort of weaponry you get in the Worms games.

Indeed, there are two modes available. The quicker Campaign mode gives you 200 units of penguin ammunition, while the Strategy mode has you attempting to take over the polar bears' territory using turn-based strategy gameplay.

And yes, you can flick your iPhone to launch your penguins, so don't forget to hold on tight.

Crazy Penguin Catapult 2 is out now the cost of $2.99 or £1.79. There's also a free version to whet your appetite.
