Crash Bandicoot spinning onto N-Gage

It sounds like it's the first of several such titles

Crash Bandicoot spinning onto N-Gage

Nokia has announced it is teaming up with Vivendi Games Mobile to bring the hugely popular Crash Bandicoot to the N-Gage platform.

"Vivendi Games Mobile is one of the most respected publishers in mobile gaming," said Gregg Sauter, Nokia's director of third party publishing. "Crash Bandicoot is a gaming icon as well as a global powerhouse, having sold more than 33 million units worldwide. With its fun appeal to people of all ages and incredible graphics, the Crash Bandicoot franchise is the perfect fit for N-Gage."

And by franchise, Sauter appears to indicate we should expect several Crash games for the platform. Indeed, you hardly need to read between the lines to agree on the fact it's something Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile, seemingly confirms.

"We are excited to offer Nokia customers the opportunity to enter the thrilling world of Crash Bandicoot and play a number of award winning titles from the popular Crash franchise," he said.

Assumptions aside, the first release focuses on the original storyline, with the crazed marsupial charged with saving the world by defeating evil scientist Dr Neo Cortex. And naturally, this all takes place within the fast-paced, colourful world Crash fans have come to know and love.
