Command & Conquer 4 constructing a base on mobile

New units, two campaigns, and special unit abilities

Command & Conquer 4 constructing a base on mobile

The swansong for the long-running real-time strategy series Command & Conquer has been confirmed by EA Mobile for release on J2ME mobiles this summer.

Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight is the final chapter in the quadrilogy, and sees the GDI and NOD forces battling it out for the remaining vestiges of Earth that haven’t been ripped to pieces by the technology-enabling Tiberiun crystals.

New units in this entry include the Crawler, a multi-purpose unit that can be used defensively or offensively depending on the mode selected. This multi-faceted nature carries through to other units as well, with both active and passive abilities available for research.

There’s also the option for some terrific destruction via Ion Cannons and Orca strikes if single-unit abilities aren’t enough.

And there's a new mode entitled Commandant, which sounds like an active pause function to me as it allows players to ‘think through…steps and plan how [to] solve challenging situations’. Any help to plan out tactics though is a welcome one for a game as fast moving as C&C.

Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight should be hitting mobile portals later in the summer.
