New week, new Call of Duty: Roads to Victory PSP trailer
Other WWII games might want to stay in their trenches
Medal of Honor Heroes was so focused on getting its multiplayer dynamic into the game safely that it neglected to ensure the single-player experience wouldn't get hit by shrapnel. Brothers in Arms: D-Day, meanwhile, simply forgot to pack excitement in its kit bag.
You can't imagine it would have taken a franchise as battle-hardened as Call of Duty long to assess the situation and mount an impressive offensive – namely, Roads to Victory – aimed at capturing the commercial strategic position of being known as the leader of the PSP WWII-based action shooters.
It's not there yet, of course, but trailers such as today's (which you can download by clicking on 'Watch It!') should certainly gain it more recruits.
We'll obviously reserve final judgement until we get our digits on finished code (due in the third week of March) but for now things are looking suitably intense, with numerous enemies on screen, a variety of shooting roles available and multiplayer action guaranteed.
Let's just hope the promise doesn't turn out to be pre-war propaganda. Click 'Track It!' for a reminder when we don our tin hats and mount our review.
