Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies announced for iPhone and iPad, due today
Boo!
Just over two years ago, Activision gave the iOS gaming world an almighty shock by releasing Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies on iPhone. Not only did this improbable multiplayer shooter come out of nowhere, but it was surprisingly good, earning a coveted Pocket Gamer Gold Award.
It's happened again. Like a decomposing man suddenly appearing from behind a tree, Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies has appeared on the App Store.
Based on the Zombies mode in 2010's Call of Duty: Black Ops, the game sees you fending off zombies single-player or with up to three human beings over a range of multiplayer modes. There's even a Voice Chat feature, enabling you to verbally abuse them.
It comes with the original Black Ops map Kino der Toten (“Cinema of the Dead”) and 50 levels of the top-down shooter mode Dead-Ops Arcade. As with Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies, more maps and features will be along in future updates.
Though it doesn't appear to be available at the time of writing, Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies is due to hit the App Store today (December 1st) for £4.99 / $6.99.
