Gamescom '12: Call of Duty: Black Ops - Declassified to feature 4v4 multiplayer, out this November

Sony officially confirmed that the upcoming PS Vita shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops – Declassified will support four-vs-four multiplayer.

The eight-player multiplayer will feature Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed modes on new maps built exclusively for PS Vita.

While Sony confirmed that the multiplayer would be available over wi-fi and Near modes, the company didn't indicate whether the multiplayer would be available over 3G.

In additon, Sony announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops – Declassified will come out in November, and that there will be a limited edition bundle that will include the game, a special PS Vita with a CoD-themed rear panel, and a special carrying pouch.

In context, it’s awesome

Sony also offered a bit of context for the game's single-player missions: Call of Duty: Black Ops - Declassified is set between the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops and the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

The November release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops - Declassified fits neatly with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC and consoles.

Sony closed out its press conference with some great gameplay footage of Black Ops - Declassified's multiplayer, which we'll share with you in the form of this Gamescom trailer:
