Namco’s Buccaneer Blitz sets sail for iPhone and iPad this week

Avast ye scurvy sea dogs, there’s another pirate-themed game about to plunder yer iPhone and iPod touch.
Buccaneer Blitz, from Namco, is a 3D real-time strategy game that's all about fending off invading ships before they loot your pirate port. You can sink their ships with catapulted cannonballs, send off an army of peg leg soldiers to tackle invaders, and cast spells from the heavens.
To build up mana, which will let you unleash god-like destruction, you’ll need to sacrifice citizens. It’s all about finding the right balance between direct attacks and beheading your entire population for ship-smashing lightning bolts.
You can play multiplayer online or locally, with wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity. There are also trophies to win for spectacular strategy show-offs. The game comes with 15 levels, but you can grab 12 more through a 59p / 99c / €0.79c in-app purchase.
