Lost Amiga puzzle-platformer Babylonian Twins coming to Windows Phone 7

The critically acclaimed iPhone puzzle platformer Babylonian Twins is coming to Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 platform.

The iPhone version received a Pocket Gamer Silver Award back in April, when we described it as “charming and demanding in equal measure." Playing as the titular twins, you have to use co-operative and indivual skills to progress through the ancient city of Babylon to defeat an evil sorcerer. Babylon Twins started life in 1993 as an Amiga project aimed at educating gamers about Iraq, which its creator Rabah Shihab was tired of seeing portrayed as a hostile wilderness. Though it didn't originally see the light of day, Babylon Twins was given a second chance on iPhone earlier this year.

Developer Cosmos Interactive Inc. says that the WP7 version is exactly the same as the iPhone title, except for the obvious absence of Game Center support.

No price has been confirmed for the WP7 release, but the iPhone version currently costs £1.79 / $2.99 / €2.39.

Cosmos Interactive Inc. founder and developer Rabah Shihab has even told Pocket Gamer that the game is to be ported to other systems in the future as well.

“We are planning to bring the game to Android and other platforms next. Stay tuned.” More news as we get it.
