Despite the talk of Flight Control HD and Zen Bound 2, surely one of the core releases for iPad is going to be a decent version of Sudoku.

At least that's what Astraware is hoping will be on the minds of what I reckon is going to be a greyer, slower, flatter, more thoughtful iPad audience - at least compared to that for iPhone and iPod touch.

Which is why it's releasing Astraware Sudoku, an enhanced version of its iPhone game.

Of course it will come with enhanced graphics - see below - and as a universal app, you'll be able to download it for all iDevices.

Indeed, if you've already bought it, you'll be able to sync your iPad to iTunes and download the version for no extra cost.

"Astraware Sudoku has all the features an avid Sudoku player would want including multiple difficulty levels, intelligent hints, number highlighting, puzzle solver and auto or manual pencil marks," the developer tells us.

Astraware Sudoku will be out for the iPad's launch on 3rd April, priced $9.99, €7.99 or £5.99.
