Chillingo published sci-fi shooter Assault Squadron has seen its price blasted clean away for iPhone users.
The game's plot, such as it is, involves you being a part of the titular Assault Squadron, where you must face and destroy the increasing alien attacking threat to Earth. To do this, you must fight them across various top down shooter environments.
It's not particularly original in terms of gameplay then, but where Assault Squadron impresses is in its super-slick 60 FPS frame rate and constantly stunning 3D backdrops.
It’s worth picking up just to see it in action, and is available right now, for zero pennies, in the iPhone App Store. There's no details on how long this non-price will stay around, so you'd better be quick.
