Pokemon GO bugs and legendary Pokemon - what have Niantic been up to?
Just keep swimming, Niantic
Almost a week after Niantic's biggest and fan-riling update, fans noticed something a bit off when it came to catching Pokemon. Were the Pokemon harder to catch or was that our imaginations?
Trainers, a new bug affecting throw accuracy increases the odds of escape and omits the XP bonus. We are working on a fix, stay tuned... — Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) August 4, 2016
After the uproar that came from Niantic's removal of the (albeit broken) tracking feature and third-party support such as the tracking websites, it's no wonder it's taken them until now to talk about a bug affecting Pokeball accuracy. Whether they were aware of it or not, it turns out that we weren't imagining an increase in difficulty as they spoke out on Twitter yesterday.
With nothing in Pokemon GO's patch notes, it seems Niantic has been having a very busy week trying to get the App ready for more releases and fixing the aforementioned bugs, including the removal of the power saving function on iOS devices. According to a recent Facebook post, this was only a temporary move and should be back up within a few days.
Niantic has also been dealing with the legendary Pokemon controversy as we spoke about earlier this week, which after a lengthy debate and a head-load of abuse to poor Covey turns out to be true. According to a representative, granting the rare Pokemon to certain players turned out to be a mistake and they have since been removed from the affected accounts.
